Why Choose Timms?

Experience & Knowledge

Within the team we have some particularly strong areas of expertise and experience: four members of the team are on the Children Panel which means that they can represent children and parents in care proceedings. This requires regular attendance at courts throughout the East Midlands including the High Court where complex cases are often dealt with.

Resolution Members

Several of the team are Resolution members. Resolution is an organisation with key objectives to reduce the acrimony in divorce proceedings. Resolution has clear codes of practice and all members of the family team approach cases in line with this code of practice to ensure an efficient and sympathetic service for our clients. Resolution Accredited members have to demonstrate a high level of expertise in their chosen areas and have to meet stringent requirements through external assessment which means that our clients can be confident in our expertise.

Legal Aid

We have a Legal Aid Agency Contract and can assess your eligibility for Legal Aid so that from the day of your first interview we should be able to tell you if you can receive legal advice with the benefit of financial support from the Legal Aid Agency. The areas where legal aid is available are very restricted since 1st April 2013. We can advise as to your eligibility for advice when we see you.

We pride ourselves in ensuring you and your family achieve the best result for your circumstances.

Results that speak for themselves

  • The service we received from Jo Taylor was brilliant from start to finish, Jo made it easy for us to understand everything that was going on. I would highly recommend Jo and Timms Solicitors. Thank you.
  • Jason was brilliant and spoke to me as much as my mum. If I didn’t understand then he put it to me another way. Court was not good for me and Jason made it easier, he also understood my special needs and tried to help.
  • Gill was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Everything was clearly explained to me and made my divorce very straight forward to navigate in what was a very difficult time. Gill gave me the best outcome and we managed it from March - September 2015 very efficiently. I would definitely recommend Gill and Timms overall.
