Timms Donate £1000 to Local CSE Charity NWG Network

Held in June, Timms annual Care Conference attracted over 80 delegates from across the legal sector and local authorities.

This year the focus was Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and the Timms Family Team were joined by a number of experts including Sheila Taylor MBE from NWG Network, Dr Fiona Straw, a Consultant Paediatrician, Stefano Nuvoloni QC and Paul McCandless, Barrister. All bought a wealth of knowledge from differing perspectives and expertise on the subject matter.

The conference was specifically designed to educate lawyers and other professionals working with families to understand the issues surrounding Child Sexual Exploitation.

The recent BBC drama ‘Three Girls’ and the subsequent documentary about the much publicised Child Sexual Exploitation case in Rotherham has brought back into sharp focus the horrendous treatment of young girls at the hands of perpetrators and the failings of the criminal justice system.

All experts gave their time free of charge and the not-for-profit conference has donated £1000 to the NWG network, a nationwide CSE charity based in Derby. NWG Network offer support and advice, training, share national developments and influence the development of national and local policy informed by practice. They have also developed a youth advisory board to enable young peoples’ voices to be heard through the work being done.
