Timms Reaffirm Support To Derby County Community Trust Awards

Derby County Community Trust Awards

We are delighted to announce that Timms are once again supporting the annual Derby County Community Trust awards – celebrating the local charity’s amazing participants, staff and projects and the achievements they have made.

For the fourth year running, we are sponsoring the Inclusion Award.  In 2019 the award was presented to an amazing young lady, Lizzie Knighton from Cromford Primary School, and we look forward to meeting this year’s worthy winner as well as all the other award recipients at the forthcoming celebration event on 27th September at Pride park.

The Inclusion Award is awarded to a team or an individual who has helped create and facilitate inclusive practice for participants, or who as a participant themselves, has engaged in one of the Derby County Community Trust programmes. Nominees will have achieved outstanding success whilst overcoming significant barriers and challenges. As an active member of the local community, Timms are really thrilled to have been asked to sponsor such an award.

Over the past few years, Timms have worked closely with the DCCT on several projects including a Dragons Den style initiative called Shark Tank. Shark Tank saw young people working on business propositions and then presenting them to a panel of local business leaders and proved to be an enormous success for all involved.

The Derby County Community Trust have also worked alongside Timms and the Alzheimer’s Society to help deliver Alzheimer’s information sessions to various local community groups across the region.

Being an active member of the local community is hugely important to Timms and being able to take part in the awards event in such a way is a real privilege. We are really excited to meet all the nominees this year, and we are sure that the event will once again been a huge success.

Managing Partner Fiona Moffat said: “I attend a lot of awards presentations and celebration events but this is definitely the highlight of the year because of the passion and commitment of everyone involved in Derby County Community Trust whether as a participant, member of staff, supporter or associated project.

“DCCT have really made a positive difference in our local communities and I am so proud that Timms is able to support this charity by sponsoring an award again.”
