How Can I Help?
I am a Care Solicitor within the Family Department based at our Burton office.
I represent parents and family members at a pre-proceedings level and through to court proceedings when Social Services are involved due to safeguarding concerns. I also act for families when a Special Guardianship Order is being sought or whereby a parent wishes to discharge a Care or Supervision order.
I possess a can-do attitude and strive to achieve the best outcome for my clients during a very difficult chapter in their lives. I am very approachable and pride myself on being able to provide sound advice and assist clients by explaining complex legal processes in an easy way for them to understand.
My Experience
I went to Staffordshire University whereby I completed a Law with Sociology Degree, the Legal Practice Course and a Masters in Legal Practice. I then secured a training contract within a Local Authority legal department in 2014 and qualified as a solicitor in 2016.
Since qualification, I have worked as a Child Protection Solicitor and knew from an early stage that this is the area of law in which I wanted to pursue a career, especially as this role includes a lot of time undertaking advocacy in Court.
How Long Have I Been Part Of The Team?
I have been at Timms since May 2021. However, I feel that I have been part of the team for years. We are a close-knit group of colleagues and Timms is a very supportive place to work.
It also provides for lots of networking and marketing opportunities. For example, I recently attended Derbyshire Business Awards 2020 as Timms was a finalist in the Professional Services category.
Fun Fact About Me
I have somehow established that I can hum and whistle at the same time.
