Lisa joined Timms in February 2016 and has over 14 years experience in Residential Conveyancing.

After graduating with a Honours degree in Law from Lancaster University in 1997, Lisa worked full time whilst completing a legal practice course by open learning, qualifying as a Solicitor in 2004. Lisa became a Partner in March 2018.

Lisa deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including leasehold and freehold sales and purchases, complex property transactions and also small/ medium developments having acted for a number of small developers.

As Head of Residential Property, Lisa manages the team across all four offices. She is currently based in Derby but is happy to see clients at any of the four Timms offices.

Lisa is committed to providing excellent customer service, providing straight forward legal advice and to helping her clients achieve their desired outcome. Lisa is looking forward to building long lasting relationships with clients and professional contacts in the East Midlands area.

Jo was admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2017 and joined Timms in May 2018 as Head of the Wills & Probate Department. In 2019, Jo became a Partner.

Jo has almost 20 years experience in Private Client work and is also a Fully Accredited Member of Solicitors for the Elderly, CILEX Probate Practitoner and a Dementia Friends Champion.

Jo particularly enjoys dealing with the administration of estates where there has been a breakdown in family relations and is passionate about client care.

She enjoys leading the team of 11 across the firm’s four offices and actively takes part in business development and marketing activities.

Sara has been at Timms for over 30 years and is one of the longest serving members of staff.

Sara commenced her working life at the CAB on a voluntary basis, before moving to work at a Derby firm of solicitors as a legal secretary and then finally joining Timms, initially as a legal secretary.

Whilst working as a secretary, Sara undertook the ILEX qualification via a correspondence course and qualified as a Member of the Institute of Legal Executives in June 1996, leading to admission as a Fellow of the Institute in June 1998. Sara practiced in other areas of law before settling in the Non Contentious, Wills & Probate department in 2000, where she finally found her niche and very much enjoys this area of work.

Keith joined the Probate Department at Timms in 2003. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1999 having spent 10 years in the NHS as a Registered Nurse specialising in Coronary Care and Intensive Care. He completed a full time law degree and Legal Practice Course whilst working in the NHS and commenced a training contract with Timms in 1997.

Since qualifying Keith has worked for a large City firm specialising in medical defence, inquests, consent matters and other medico-legal issues. He returned to Timms in 2003 when the opportunity to work locally offered more time to spend with his young family.

Keith has now worked in Probate at Timms for many years and although he enjoys working with clients of all ages he finds care of the elderly work particularly satisfying especially when capacity issues are involved.

Leonnie joined Timms in July 2018 after completing her Undergraduate Law Degree at the University of Derby. She successfully completed her Legal Practice Course and Masters Degree on a part time basis at Nottingham Trent University; all the while supporting the Care team at both our Burton and Derby office.

Leonnie began her training contract here at Timms in June 2021 and is due to qualify as a solicitor in December 2022.

In her spare time, Leonnie particularly enjoys spontaneous road trips and travelling, going to the theatre, shopping and spending time with family and friends. She also loves watching a good film or TV series.

Julie has been at Timms for over 28 years and has worked within the Wills and Probate team for the last 25 years. She has also spent time working in the family and civil litigation departments.

Having been the longest serving secretary in the team, Julie now works as a Probate Assistant supporting her colleagues with her vast knowledge and experience and working to progress probate matters. Julie is particularly interested in taxable estates and can frequently be found perusing the HMRC website.

Julie completed the STEP foundation certificate for England and Wales in Trusts and Estates in 2006.

Outside of the office, Julie enjoys spending time with her family, particularly her young grandchildren. She is a keen gardener and loves to spend time on her allotment, which she has worked on for over 20 years.

Alicia joined Timms' Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Department in November 2000 as a trainee Legal Executive, having previously worked as a legal secretary. After studying hard, she first qualified as a legal executive then as a solicitor. Alicia studied at De Montfort University in Leicester.

Alicia lives locally in the Swadlincote area with her partner and young daughter.

When Alicia is not working she enjoys reading, relaxing and visiting nice pubs for a meal. She is very keen on the outdoors and loves walking in Derbyshire and the Lake District. She also enjoys spending time with her family.

David has been practising as a medical malpractice lawyer for over 20 years and is the Head of our Clinical Negligence Department.

David works on predominantly high value cases and is a member of the Law Society's Clinical Negligence Panel and is therefore accredited by them to pursue medical negligence compensation.

David strives to provide clients with a bespoke, personal service, dealing with cases personally throughout, ensuring claims are dealt with speedily and efficiently from start to finish.

Fiona is the Managing Partner of Timms and splits her time between this role and working in the Family team. She is a member of the Children Panel and also an Accredited Specialist in the organisation ‘Resolution’ for family lawyers.

Fiona enjoys dealing with her own advocacy and undertaking more complex financial cases. She likes to deal with a blend of work in her case load involving divorce, financial cases, injunctions, private law children matters and childcare.

Fiona has also trained as a Collaborative Lawyer bringing a new approach to resolution of disputes when families break down.

In her spare time, Fiona enjoys walking and taking on new challenges, the latest being her abseil off the top of Derby Cathedral to raise funds for Rainbows Children's Hospice.

Adrian is a solicitor and family mediator who has worked exclusively in family law for over twenty years. His family law and family mediation practices are accredited by Resolution recognising his expertise in these areas.

Adrian deals with the legal aspects arising from the breakdown of relationships or on divorce, with emphasis on the financial consequences for separating couples. He also assists those wishing to plan for their futures together in dealing with pre-nuptial and cohabitation agreements.

Adrian is also a professional practice consultant for other family mediators, providing mentoring and support for them and their practices.

In his spare time, Adrian enjoys hill and mountain walking, gardening and horticulture as well being a long suffering supporter of both Derby County Football Club and Leicester Tigers.

Alison qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2003 and has spent most of her career working in the Ashby and Swadlincote area.

Alison joined the Timms Family team in September 2016 and specialises in all areas of family law including divorce, cohabitation and civil partnerships, finances, pre and post nuptial agreements, separation agreements and private law children matters. She is an Accredited Specialist with Resolution, an organisation for family lawyers that promotes a non-confrontational approach to family law problems.

Alison obtained a Masters degree in agricultural law and is experienced in working with clients from a farming background.

Jo has been at Timms for over 15 years, having qualified as a solicitor at our Swadlincote Office in 1993. From 2001 she worked for a commercially minded Tamworth firm and was pleased to re-join Timms in the Family Team in April 2010.

Jo is a member of the Law Society Children Panel and acts for parents, children and others in Local Authority care cases, special guardianship proceedings and adoption. She is highly skilled in dealing sensitively with parents with mental health issues or learning difficulties and with young parents. She is experienced in advising carers and extended family in respect of special guardianship.

Jo and her family enjoy long walks with their Collie cross. She loves the coast and countryside. Her interests include local politics and she is an honorary alderman of East Staffordshire.

She began working for Timms as a paralegal in the Family Department’s Care team in April 2017 and continued studying alongside working. In July 2017, she was awarded a commendation in the law conversion course at Nottingham Law School. In July 2019 Jessica gained a distinction in her Legal Practice Course.

In December 2018, Jessica began her training contract in the Private Family team before moving into the Wills & Probate Department and finally Residential Conveyancing.

Melissa joined the Childcare team at Timms in May 2021. Prior to joining the team, Melissa was a Childcare solicitor at a local authority for over six years whereby she also completed her training contract. She knew from an early stage that she had a keen interest in Childcare Law and was dedicated to pursuing a career in this field.

Melissa regularly represents parents and family members at the pre-proceedings stage through to Court proceedings. Alongside work, Melissa also studied for her Masters in Legal Practice at Staffordshire University on a part-time basis which she was awarded in 2018. Melissa is committed, approachable and works hard to achieve the best outcome for her clients whilst making sure they feel supported throughout.

Lauren obtained a first-class law degree from Nottingham Trent University in 2013 and upon completion started working as a Childcare Paralegal at a firm in Leicestershire.

After 3 years as a Paralegal, Lauren undertook the Legal Practice Course part time whilst continuing to work full time. She was awarded a distinction in July 2017. Lauren then commenced her training contract in September 2017, before qualifying as a Solicitor in June 2020.

Lauren spent 1-year practicing as a Criminal Solicitor before moving to Timms to take up a post as a Childcare Solicitor in June 2021.

Lauren has a wealth of experience dealing with parents during what is an extremely difficult time and credits herself in dealing with them in a very sensitive manner.

In her spare time Lauren enjoys days out with her daughter, baking and eating out.

Matt joined the firm in February 2018 and worked his way up through a variety of roles before securing his training contract in December 2019. He simultaneously completed the university stages of his career part-time at Nottingham Law School.

Having completed his first two seats in Commercial Property and Conveyancing, Matt now relishes the chance to cut his teeth in the firm’s Public Law: Children department. He has the benefit of our experienced and capable team of family lawyers and is under the direct supervision of solicitor Dee Khunkhuna.

Michaela is a Senior Paralegal in our Care Team, having joined Timms in 2002 as a Legal Secretary. Michaela has worked in all of our offices in different areas of law but has finally taken base in the Care team in her hometown of Swadlincote.

Michaela supports Dee and the team in representing Guardians and Parents in Public Law Care Proceedings. Michaela enjoys the variety of challenges that Care Proceedings bring, particularly when dealing with urgent matters and the more complex cases.

Outside of the office, when not running around after her two children, she enjoys dining out, wine tasting and spending time with her extended family. If time allows Michaela enjoys an outdoor run and more recently Pilates and Meditation.

Claire joined Timms in July 2002 working initially within the Civil Litigation department but since 2003 she has worked solely in the Childcare area of law.

Claire is one of our more senior paralegals in the Care team and currently works closely with the Managing Partner, Fiona Moffat.

Claire has experience of working with both Court appointed Guardians and parents who are involved in
Care Proceedings brought by Local Authorities and issued by the Court.

Claire has completed and passed her CILEx Level 3 law qualification which she did whilst working at Timms.

Outside of work, Claire enjoys being a “soccer mum” to her two sons who keep her social life busy by playing football teams all over the country.

Sharon joined Timms in January 2007 as a Legal Secretary in the Family Department, firstly working in Private Family Law and quickly moving to join the Care Team.

Sharon, as a Senior Paralegal, supports Jo and the Care Team in representing Guardians and Parents in Public Law Care Proceedings. This is a challenging role that ‘keeps you on your toes’. Sharon also enjoys sharing her experience and knowledge with new colleagues as they join the team.

Outside of the office Sharon is a committee member and volunteer for the Burton Child Contact Centre. She also enjoys theatre trips, road trips, cruising and dining out.

Prior to completing her degree, Eleanor gained experience as a Legal Aid Family Paralegal, working alongside her studies.

Eleanor is due to begin the Legal Practice Course and Master’s Degree part-time in September 2021, with the view of qualifying as a Family Solicitor in the future.

In her spare time Eleanor enjoys travelling to different places and attending music concerts. She also enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and recently completed a tandem sky-dive to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.

Leah joined our Family Team as a Paralegal in November 2021 where she supports both the Private and Care team at the Burton and Derby offices. Prior to joining Timms, Leah obtained a First-Class Law Degree at Manchester Metropolitan University and shortly afterwards she began working as a Private Family Law Paralegal.

Leah is due to begin studying for the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations in the new year whilst working here at Timms, with the view of completing the first examination in July 2022. Leah is excited to embark on this new route of qualifying, and will be supported and guided through this journey by our experienced and capable team of lawyers and paralegals.

Outside of work, Leah loves cooking and baking and also enjoys trying new foods at different restaurants. She loves to spend time with her friends, family and her dog and she also enjoys travelling to new places.

Katie joined Timms in 2012 and has studied Conveyancing through the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives whilst working in the Conveyancing team. Originally dealing with quotes and new business, Katie has progressed during her time at Timms and now handles her own caseload in the Swadlincote office. She has passed all the necessary exams and was admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in August 2018.

Kani has almost 5 years experience working in residential property, she joined the Conveyancing team at our Derby office in October 2021.

A University of Derby graduate, Kani obtained her degree in Law in 2014 and then a Masters in Commercial Law in 2015. She is looking to complete her Legal Practice Certificate (LPC) in 2022 as she continues to study part-time whilst working at Timms.

Grace joined the Conveyancing team at our Derby office in September 2021 after completing her degree in Criminology at the University of Derby. She is currently studying towards her Master’s in Criminal Investigation part-time, also at the University of Derby.

Grace has a host of experience in client care from her previous roles and enjoys using these skills to talk to clients, both on the phone and in person. Grace is dedicated to helping and assisting new clients and she is often the first person clients speak to when requesting a conveyancing quote.

Supporting the residential conveyancing team across all four offices, Grace is approachable, friendly and happy to help with any queries.

Natasha is a dual qualified Solicitor and Chartered Legal Executive.

She graduated from Nottingham Law School and completed her Legal Practice Course at Staffordshire University.

She qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, specialising in Personal Injury and then went on to qualify as a Solicitor.

Natasha is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

She has worked in Personal Injury since 2008 and has extensive experience in various areas of personal injury claims including catastrophic and life changing injuries involving multiple fractures, head injuries, and loss of limbs. She also represents clients who have suffered industrial injuries such as vibration white finger, noise induced hearing loss, mesothelioma and asbestosis.

Natasha advises on a broad range of injuries resulting from Accidents at Work, Road Traffic Accidents, Slips, Trips and Falls, Public Liability, Product Liability, Beauty and Laser treatments and injuries caused by animals.

Based in the Derby office, Natasha covers Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire.

Gemma loves the variety of challenges that HR presents and enjoys the fact that no two days are the same. Gemma has a passion for HR and looks forward to bringing her experience into Timms.

Sharon, a CIM Marketing Professional, joined Timms in March 2014 following a career within the automotive and professional services sectors.

With many years hands on and management experience in marketing strategy and marketing communications, she is a stickler for detail and loves to work with branding.

Responsible for creating and implementing the firms marketing strategy, event management, business development, marketing communications, website management and social media marketing, networking and statistical analysis, Sharon supports all members of the Timms team.

Always one to rise to a challenge, outside work Sharon is often found training for her next event whether that be running, cycling, swimming or more recently she has developed a love of triathlons!

Ali joined Timms in early 2016 having graduated with a BA Hons in Accounting and spending 6 years at a reputable firm as Head of Finance.

Having an interest at a very early age with IT, Ali further developed his skills whilst working in the legal sector and brought that experience to Timms. Now the Systems Manager, he heads Finance and IT and is also a member of The Institute of Legal Finance and Management (ILFM)

Ali’s great passion is sport, especially football and Manchester United, he is also a follower of his home town Stoke City. A keen traveller and an interest in culture, he has visited many countries all over the world. In his spare time Ali attends the gym and enjoys watching various TV shows.

Vince joined Timms in early 2021 to take over the day to day running of IT after many years’ experience within the IT sector.

Vince started his career on the helpdesk at a national building developers and from there he moved onto a greater challenge supporting external clients on a global basis. In 2017, he took a career break to look after his two children.

Vince loves that no two days are the same in IT and he’s always up for a challenge. In his spare time, he enjoys visiting the gym, meals out with friends and family along with caravanning across the UK exploring new places.
