Why Choose Timms For Family Law, Childcare or Divorce?
Experience and Knowledge
Our Family Law team regularly deal with complex cases with high value assets both in the UK and overseas. This can include cases that involve pensions, businesses, inherited wealth and family assets, and farms, those that involve other agencies such as the Insolvency Service and the Crown Prosecution Service as well as more modest cases and those involving debts and needs, which can be equally challenging.
These require regular attendance at Courts throughout the Midlands and throughout the country, including the High Court where complex cases are often dealt with.
Within our team we have strong areas of expertise and experience, some members are on the Children Panel which means that they can represent children and parents in care proceedings.
Resolution Members
Several of the team are Resolution members. Resolution is an organisation with key objectives to reduce the acrimony in divorce proceedings. Resolution has clear codes of practice and all members of the family team approach cases in line with this code of practice to ensure an efficient and sympathetic service for our clients.
Legal Aid and Costs
Legal Aid is available but is very restricted and is not always appropriate. We have a Legal Aid Agency Contract and can assess your eligibility so that from the day of your first interview we should be able to tell you if you can receive legal advice with the benefit of financial support from the Legal Aid Agency. We can advise as to your eligibility for advice when we see you and if it’s not available, will provide you with clear estimates of the costs of your case throughout.
We pride ourselves in ensuring you and your family achieve the best result for your circumstances.
