Personal Injury Claims - How Much Compensation Will I Get?
The most common questions we get asked are – how much compensation will I receive for my personal injury claim, and how do you calculate that figure?
We are usually not able to give you an accurate estimate of what your claim is worth at the outset, particularly if you are not fully recovered and your symptoms are ongoing. This is because several factors must be considered before we are able to value your claim.
What Factors Determine My Level Of Compensation?
The level of compensation will depend on a number of factors including:
- The nature and severity of the injury
- How the injury has affected day to day life
- The length of time it will take to make a full recovery
- If there are any pre-existing medical conditions
- If the injury is permanent
In order to accurately value your personal injury, claim we will need to consider two factors:
General Damages – relating to your injuries and the pain and suffering caused by those injuries.
Special Damages – relating to financial losses or out of pocket expenses that you may have sustained as a result of your injuries i.e. loss of earnings, travel expenses etc.
