The Burton Barrel Roll will feature 12 giant barrel sculptures which will take centre stage around the town centre between July and September.
The Burton Barrel Roll is inspired by the town’s long tradition in the brewing industry. It has been designed by Making Trails and is supported by a team of artists, businesses and local organisations, including Timms.
Each sponsor will choose a design that will adorn their sponsored barrel on the trail. The creations will then be auctioned for charity later in the year.
As well as attracting much-needed footfall to boost the local economy and inspiring pride in Burton, the free and interactive trail will promote health and happiness by encouraging local residents and visitors alike to download the app and get out and about.
The trail follows on from the success of Burton Swans in 2020 and The Big Burton Carousel in 2021 which were collectively seen by more than 35,000 visitors, Timms Solicitors, which has a long-established office in Burton as well as in Swadlincote, Ashby and Derby, have supported all three of these arts trails in the town over recent years.
Managing partner Fiona Moffat explained: “As a firm that is rooted in this area, we are proud to again be supporting the local community where our staff and clients live and work and we are delighted to be sponsoring one of the barrel sculptures in this wonderful public art trail.
“Both the Burton Swans and Big Burton Carousel were a huge success and brought much needed joy and colour to the town.
“I am sure that the Burton Big Barrel will equally increase community engagement, boost town centre footfall, increase civic pride and stimulate the local economy.”
