We are proud to support the Alzheimer Society's Dementia Friends initiative
Since its inception, Timms Solicitors has supported the Alzheimer Society’s Dementia Friends initiative.
Over the past 7 years, we have regular organised and hosted Dementia Friends Information Sessions across the Midlands for small businesses, charities, local community groups and our own team of employees. By sharing this knowledge and spreading the word, we have created 100’s of Dementia Friends locally and raised awareness of both alzheimers and dementia.
We are extremely proud that over half of our 60+ strong team have joined a Dementia Friends Information session to become a Dementia Friend.
What is Dementia Friends?
A Dementia Friends Champion explains what Dementia actually is, how it affects each person differently, and how small actions can help someone who is living with Dementia. The Dementia Friends Sessions are very informative and we’ve found that often those taking part take the opportunity to share their own experiences leading to a wider conversation about caring for someone who is living with Dementia.
Whilst we no longer host Dementia Friends information sessions, we are happy to signpost to the nearest group or to join an existing carers group to talk about Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorneys and estate planning.
