Katie studied Law at Sheffield Hallam University, graduating with Honours in 2009. She was admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in August 2018 while working at Timms. In 2024, Katie successfully cross-qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer.

Katie has worked within the Conveyancing Department at Timms since 2012, having started as a legal secretary. Katie prides herself on providing an excellent service to her clients, making the process as seamless as possible, believing that effective communication is key.

She is now based at the Burton office but oversees the Conveyancing team over all four of our offices. Having grown up in the area, Katie has excellent local knowledge and enjoys working with and getting to know her clients in the East Midlands and the surrounding areas.

Julie joined Timms in August 2020 bringing with her an extensive career. Having worked for over 40 years in residential conveyancing, she has spent the last 16 years working in Derby City.

Originating from Swadlincote where she lived until a few years ago, she is familiar with the area and its suburbs, something Julie considers important when dealing with local cases.

Julie endeavours to provide a personal efficient service presented in an understandable and practical manner. She is a licensed conveyancer having qualified some years ago whilst working at a solicitors’ practice in Derby.

Rachel joined the team in September 2024 having previously worked for a local high street law firm. Rachel qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in May 2020 after first studying Law at Derby University. She has been working in residential conveyancing for 8 years. Prior to this, Rachel has worked for the local authority in Waste Policy.

Rachel is able to bring a wealth of knowledge to the role which she has gained during her many years working at the Local Council and more recently in conveyancing. Rachel is based in Burton on Trent and has good local knowledge of the area, having grown up and worked in East Staffordshire. Rachel is helpful and friendly and likes to go that extra mile for her clients. She enjoys working with estate agents to help clients on their conveyancing journey be as stress free as possible.

Outside of work, she likes to spend family time with her husband, 2 sons and looking after her elderly Mum. She dreams of one day climbing Mount Everest, but may just have to settle with Mount Snowden and running the marathon.

Lauren started at Timms Solicitors in April 2025, making the move from a conveyancing firm where she worked for 7 years, starting from administration support up to Property Lawyer in that time.

Lauren’s love for property and conveyancing began to form when she took on a Sales Negotiator role at an independent estate agents firm in her hometown of Rugby, before moving to the outskirts of Ashby three years ago.

Lauren is currently completing her CLC Qualification, and outside of work she is usually found enjoying the National Forest with her family and Patterdale terrier.

Sam joined the team in January 2025 as a Conveyancing Paralegal having previously worked for a local high street law firm. Sam has over 10 years’ experience in Residential Conveyancing and is currently studying for her Level 4 Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice with an aim to qualify as a Licensed Conveyancer.

Sam assists the Head of Department, Katie Holmes, in her caseload in addition to having her own caseload. Sam appreciates that buying and selling a house can be overwhelming and stressful for clients. Sam is approachable and empathetic to clients.

Sam’s objective is to simplify the conveyancing terminology for clients to make it clearer and more concise for them with an aim to making the process as stress free as possible.

Outside of work, Sam likes to spend quality time with family and friends. Sam enjoys walking her two dogs, cooking and baking.

Niamh joined Timms in August 2023 as a member of the Client Care Team at our Burton-on-Trent office, joining the Conveyancing Team as the New Business Co-ordinator in September 2024.

Niamh enjoys assisting clients in the beginning of their journey with Timms and is dedicated to ensuring that anyone who contacts the Conveyancing team has a positive experience. Moving house and finding a solicitor can be a stressful time, Niamh's positivity and calm manner can make the start of this process a little easier.

Outside of work, Niamh enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to concerts and exploring new places, particularly places of natural beauty.
