Covid-19 – Can I Still Move Home During Lockdown 3.0?

two Small Houses on green grass

Following the Government’s announcement on Monday 4th January 2021, that England will enter its third lockdown, we are advised that the housing market will remain open.

This means that people looking to move home will be able to continue with planned moves and view new properties to move into in the future. Estate and lettings agents, removers, valuers and people in sales and lettings offices and show homes will be able to continue working.

The guidance states:

‘You can still move home. People outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary. Follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes advice on social distancing, letting fresh air in, and wearing a face covering.’

Responsible behaviour by everyone involved and adherence to safety guidance throughout is more important than ever.

How Are Conveyancers Working?

In line with Government advice, our team continue to work behind closed doors. Each of our four offices will remain closed to the public and we are happy to communicate via telephone, email or video conferencing.

At this time, we are unable to offer face to face appointments and we are unable to see clients or visitors who speculatively arrive at any of our offices. However, we do have processes in place for those clients who we need to confirm identification – please contact our team for details.

We are ‘open’ for business and can take on new instructions. Conveyancing quotes can be obtained either online at https://www.timms-law.com/conveyancing/ or by phone on freephone 0800 011 6666.

Please rest assured that the Timms Conveyancing team will continue to help you buy or sell a property during 2021 and will be on hand to answer any queries you may have. We will do what we can to promote flexibility during this pandemic and the team remains contactable during office hours.
