Timms are proud to continue supporting local arts trails
Since 2019, Timms have supported local art trails in Derby and Burton. Detailed below is more information on some of the trails we have been involved in and the very exciting Burton Barrel Roll which launches in the summer of 2024.
Burton Barrel Roll 2024
Timms were delighted to support the ‘Burton Barrel Roll’ in 2024 where 12 giant barrels were located around Burton’s town centre as part of a trail.
This is the third local trail organised by the Making Trails team, with the first two – Burton Swans and The Big Burton Carousel – collectively seeing over 35,000 visitors and also supported by Timms Solicitors.
Timms Marketing Manager, Sharon Jeffery, comments; “Following the success of the Burton Swans and Burton Carousel, Timms are proud to support ‘The Burton Barrel Roll’ in summer 2024. Local arts trails are a fabulous way to explore the outdoors and for the local community to come together whilst exploring and engaging with the sculptures. And what fabulous sculptures they are – definitely worth a wander to marvel at the sheer size and scope, in addition to the creativity and stories they tell! We look forward to joining the trail”.
The Big Burton Carousel 2022
Following the success of the Burton Swans in 2020, ‘The Big Burton Carousel’ was a free art trail which featured 30 recycled and reformed plastic sculptures of galloping carousel horses.
Launched in June 2022 the horses were installed around the town centre to create a free and interactive ten-week sculpture trail that visitors explored before being auctioned off to raise money for mental health charity, Burton & District Mind.
The Big Burton Carousel was designed by Making Trails and East Staffordshire Borough Council it was supported by a team of artists, businesses and local organisations.
Derby Ram Trail 2021
The Derby Ram Trail was a free art sculpture trail that was put together by Derby Museums, working with Wild in Art and the Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District.
Team Timms sponsored one of the 30 ram sculptures, each one being decorated by a different artist and dotted around Derby City Centre for 10 weeks during the summer of 2021.
Burton Swans 2020
In collaboration with East Staffordshire Borough Council, Burton Swans featured 25 giant swan sculptures that were located around Burton Town Centre.
This was the first art trail Timms sponsored, and due to this being a huge success, we have continued to support the Making Trails team with local projects since.
The Burton Swans were auctioned off at the end of the trail and raised money for YMCA Burton.
