We are seeking a Family Solicitor / Legal Executive, of up to 3+ years PQE, to join our Private Family team. The successful applicant will be a qualified Solicitor or hold a full CILEx qualification and should be able to work with minimal supervision. Experience should include advocacy and direct client contact and advice in all aspects of private family law.

The role could be based at any of our offices, but will require travel between and attendance at each of them to serve the needs of our client base and community.

Your role

You will manage your own caseload including separation and divorce, financial remedy applications and financial matters for cohabitees and private law children and domestic abuse matters.

Alongside this, you may be required to provide supervision to junior colleagues and contribute to the department’s continued success.

  • Handling a varied caseload of private family law matters
  • Progressing cases efficiently, keeping clients informed on progress and costs
  • Delivering excellent client care and maintaining strong relationships with clients
  • Ensuring accurate billing, time recording and credit control
  • Upholding confidentiality and SRA compliance at all times
  • Liaising with colleagues and external organisations effectively
  • Supporting the promotion and business development of the department

To thrive in this role, you will need to:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor or fully qualified Legal Executive with proven family law experience.
  • Possess excellent technical knowledge and attention to detail
  • Be confident managing your own caseload independently
  • Show experience supervising staff (or readiness to take this on)
  • Be proactive, organised and dedicated to high standards of service
  • You will succeed if you’re empathetic, client-focused and confident in your expertise.
