We are proud to announce that Connor Ball-Wood, a newly-qualified Conveyancing Solicitor in our growing property team, has been shortlisted for the Derby and District Law Society Junior Lawyer of the Year award.

Connor Ball-Wood is a graduate of the University of Derby where he worked in the legal team before joining Timms in 2022 as a trainee.

During his training contract, Connor had seats in Residential Conveyancing, Wills and Probate, and Private Family and was successful in gaining a full time position as a Conveyancing Solicitor in the New Year.

In addition to his legal duties, Connor has played an active role in Timms’ work in the local business community and has represented the firm at a number of networking, community and fundraising events. He has also qualified as a Dementia Friend and plans to join the Timms’ team who provide mentoring to law students at the University of Derby.

Keen to develop his commercial acumen, Connor has written several blogs for the Timms’ website and content for social media channels and, as part of his training contract, produced a compelling business case for the development of Commercial Property services.

Partner and Training Principal, Adrian Rose comments: “From the time of his first interview, Connor displayed an assuredness that made his recruitment to the Timms Trainee Solicitor programme an obvious and easy choice.

“A growing confidence, combined with knowledge and skills gained throughout his training contract, coupled with enthusiasm and his approachable manner made his retention at qualification equally obvious and easy.

“Connor has already demonstrated not only his sound legal knowledge, excellent work ethic and standards, but a unique commercial understanding about the operations of a law firm for someone of his age and experience.

“He is an undoubted asset to our firm and to our profession and an individual who gives hope for its future. We are all therefore extremely proud that he has been shortlisted for this prestigious award.”

Connor added: “This year has already started so well with my appointment at Timms and I am incredibly honoured and humbled to be nominated and now shortlisted for the Derby and District Law Society Junior Lawyer of the Year award.”
