Those of you who had read my blogs before will know that there is a bit of theme that runs through many of them.

In past blogs, I’ve talked about the changes to Divorce Law to remove the “blame game” that were proposed and that are to brought into force later in the year. Do have a look at my blogs about “no fault divorce” for more information about that - links can be found at the bottom of this page.

What To Think About When Considering Separation

At the end of last year, we at Timms endorsed Resolution’s “Good Divorce Week” campaign and in a series of blogs I talked about how those couples who are thinking of separating ought to prepare to ensure that what can be a difficult and emotional process can be made easier, quicker and less costly.

I was pleased, therefore, to stumble across a BBC podcast that only talks about the Law in general terms but sets out an awful lot of really helpful tips in a really accessible way. The link to the podcast and its notes are below. And gentleman, if I may say, do not be put off by it being a “Woman’s Hour” podcast, as the information set out is a great guide to reducing conflict and therefore timescale and cost for everyone at what can be a confusing and anxious time.
