Clinical Negligence

If you have suffered preventable pain or injury following surgery or other medical treatment/ diagnosis, you will want to ensure that it doesn’t happen again to someone else. You may want an explanation of why it happened to you, together with an apology, and you may also be entitled to compensation.

Our Clinical Negligence team pride themselves not only on their skill, but in being sensitive, trustworthy and approachable. They are committed to the AvMA (Action against Medical Accidents) objective of avoiding medical negligence.

Bespoke Personal Service

Timms’ Clinical Negligence lawyers are headed by David Dickie who is a longstanding member of the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Lawyers Panel and specialise in the area’s listed below.

Unlike some larger firms of solicitors, Timms will provide you with a bespoke personal service for your claim, with David or Alicia dealing with it from start to finish, so your claim will not be passed from pillar to post. This will ensure your claim is speedily progressed and will maximise both the opportunity for your claim to be successful and the amount of compensation you receive.

With four offices across the Midlands, we regularly see clients from the Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham, Wallsall, Chesterfield, Sheffield, Manchester, Cannock, Loughborough, Mansfield, Tamworth or Staffordshire areas. We can even visit you in your own home if it’s more convenient.

National Coverage of Claims

With national coverage, we deal expertly with medical negligence claims in the following areas:

No Win No Fee

Funding is no win, no fee – if we consider there are reasonable prospects of success then we are prepared to litigate your medical negligence claim on the basis that we will not charge you for our work if you lose.

Legal Aid is available for birth injury claims or neonatal injury claims within 8 weeks of birth. Children under 16 are normally financially eligible for clinical negligence claims as they are assessed on their own finances rather than on their parents’ finances. Children are eligible if they do not have savings over £2500 or a regular income.

Other child medical negligence claims can be brought with no win, no fee funding.

If you believe you have suffered medical negligence, call David or Alicia direct on 0800 011 6666 for an initial free interview or email us using the form below.

Results that speak for themselves

  • Professional, considerate and understanding throughout my claim, arising from my husband’s death.
  • Just a note to say thank you for taking on my medical negligence claim and getting my settlement sorted as quick as you could. The money has made my day to day life easier as I have now settled into my new bungalow. It does not help me get my life back to how it was, as working was a big part of my life which I enjoyed, but in time I know I will feel better about this.
  • Mr Dickie has worked tirelessly and paid a great deal of attention to our case. It is important to remember that this has been a daunting experience for ourselves but Mr Dickie has always been able to put us at ease thanks to his understanding and sympathetic nature.
