I joined Timms as a Childcare solicitor after many years in the public sector working in-house at a local authority. I was nervous to make the leap to private practice however even on my first day, I was immediately made to feel welcome and I have never looked back.
Timms has an excellent reputation in family law and we host an Annual Childcare conference which is attended by many professionals in the local area.
Timms are passionate about progression and development and I have recently secured a promotion as an Associate Solicitor. I have received valuable support from my colleagues and support staff and I am super proud to be part of such a supportive team.
Timms offer excellent employee benefits including regular Wellbeing events, a Medicash scheme and also a PerkBox programme. This is a scheme where you enjoy regular points on a monthly basis which I normally spend on Café Nero lattes to keep me going when I go to Court.
I am based in the Burton space and we have recently moved to Anson Court. We have a lot of compliments from our visitors about how lovely our new office space is and how welcome they are made to feel.

I am thoroughly enjoying my experience so far at Timms. Everyone is so friendly in all our offices and the reception team always put a smile on your face as soon as you walk through the door.
As an apprentice, I have full support and dedication from Timms in ensuring I am not overwhelmed with my work and studying commitments. I am forever grateful for this and I am inspired by the hard work that those around me put in each day.
Timms also ensures that their staff are happy by arranging various wellbeing events. These have included yoga classes, flower arranging and lunchtime socials. It is nice for a legal firm to dedicate time to their staff, and I enjoy spending this time with my colleagues away from the office environment.
During my time, I have developed into a true professional by learning and reflecting on my colleague’s behaviours and I look forward to continuing my journey at Timms by developing my skills and qualifying as a Solicitor.

I joined Timms in September 2022 as a Conveyancing Assistant. From the very beginning of my time here, I was given the opportunity to develop within my role and to take on more responsibility. I was later awarded a Training Contract, which I began in March 2024.
During my time at Timms, I have had the opportunity to work within several different teams including the Conveyancing Team, Wills and Probate Team and Care Team. In each department, I have been provided with the support, guidance and training needed to allow me to succeed in my role. The teams are always welcoming and willing to make time to offer their support when needed, which I have found to be a great comfort whilst completing my Training Contract.
Timms is a firm that provides a genuine commitment to the development of its employees. There are several different routes for progression within the Timms team, making it an excellent place to develop throughout your career.

I had worked as a receptionist and helping with archiving in summer holidays before joining Timms full time working on registration applications in the Residential Conveyancing Team for a number of years.
I then became a paralegal in Family Department’s Care team in April 2017. Whilst in that role, I completed the law conversation course and then the LPC part-time before going on to become a trainee solicitor in the firm. I qualified as a solicitor in June 2020 and have worked in the Family Team ever since. I have also taken advantage of the firm’s Associate Programme, becoming an Associate with the firm in October 2022.
Timms has given me a number of great opportunities to develop and to see in practice the value that each of us can to the firm as a whole.

I joined Timms in November 2012 initially as a conveyancing assistant. Timms have really supported me over the years, during my exams and into qualification as a Chartered Legal Executive.
There is a clear path to progression at Timms and I have benefitted massively from the time and energy put into my training and development. Having successfully passed the Pathway to Partnership Programme, I am proud to now be an Associate as well as Head of Conveyancing.
The culture at Timms is supportive, friendly and progressive, which is why I have stayed with the firm for over 10 years and hope to remain here for a long while to come.

I joined Timms in January 2008. I started as a secretary in the Private Family Law Department. Four years later I was given the opportunity to work in the Family Care Department. This was the perfect career move for me, I found my niche and I haven’t looked back.
I have been provided with excellent support, training and opportunities to progress my career and now work as a Senior Paralegal within the team. I am also able to share my knowledge and experience with new team members and I have learnt that no day is the same in this fast paced department.

I joined Timms in 2023 as a HR Manager and it has been a truly rewarding experience. Timms is a well established and highly respected law firm with a long history of success, yet it remains focused on progressive growth. What sets the firm apart from others, is its ability to maintain a highly personalised service for its clients ensuring each one feels valued and supported.
What I love most about working here is the people. Everyone is not only incredibly professional but also genuinely passionate about what they do. The environment is collaborative and supportive, where teamwork is valued and success is shared. It’s a place where people look out for each other, and every team member’s contribution is recognised.
As part of this first class team of professionals, I’ve seen first hand how committed everyone is to the firms values. It’s a privilege to work with such dedicated colleagues who are all working towards common goals. I am proud to be part of a firm that truly cares about its employees’ wellbeing and development.

I have worked at Timms since the start of my legal career, joining the team in July 2018 as an Office Administrator.
In April 2019 I was promoted to Paralegal and was then awarded a Training Contract at Timms which commenced in June 2021. I then qualified as a solicitor on 1 December 2022.
There is definitely employee recognition which is evidenced by my progression throughout my time with the firm so far. This also demonstrates that there is bespoke training, tuition and great career progression opportunities available at Timms.
The support I have received from my colleagues both as a trainee and as a newly qualified solicitor has been second to none.
It is great to know that there are people who genuinely want to help you succeed and share their knowledge with you no matter how busy they are with their own case load. As a result of working closely with excellent lawyers, being shown the high quality of work and the bonus of working in a friendly environment, I have grown both professionally and personally. I certainly look forward to seeing what the future holds for me here and progressing my career.

I joined Timms in 2022 within the conveyancing team and began my training contract early 2024.
I began my time in conveyancing as the New Business Co-Ordinator where I initially dealt with new business. I then moved on to support the conveyancers with a variety of legal matters and assist directly with their caseload and current matters. I then was given the fantastic opportunity to begin a training contact in March 2024, where I continue to develop my legal skills and knowledge.
During my time, I have always felt like a valued member of the team and have always had the opportunity to develop my skills and knowledge. Timms offers a supportive and friendly environment, which has allowed me to become the best version of myself as well as a growth in my confidence.
The learning journey and support I have received is like no other and has allowed me to grow and develop into the person I am today. The offices and people are always welcoming and supportive, making it a rewarding and excellent place to be.

I have worked within Legal Accounts since 2007, and joined Timms Accounts team in July 2022.
Out all the roles I have had previously, I have found Timms the most welcoming and supportive from my very first day here, fitting straight into the team.
One of the things which has always stood out to me was the amount of staff that have been here over a number of years which I believe is testament to how the firm runs, with a happy workforce.
I feel proud to be part of Team Timms.

From my first interview with Fiona and Lorna it felt like I had not attended for an interview but had come for a catch up with friends. They were extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome and at ease. The lady on reception was also very welcoming.
From the get go, I have found everyone to be extremely friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble even if I have had to ask the same thing a few times.
It was a massive leap for me but it felt the right thing to do at the right time. My impression of the firm as a whole is that everyone is here to support each other.
