Crypto assets

The Cyber Essentials accreditation is a government-backed certification scheme which covers the essential actions a business should take to protect itself from cyberattacks.

Cyber attacks come in many shapes and sizes, but the vast majority are very basic in nature, carried out by relatively unskilled individuals. They’re the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if it’s unlocked.

Managing Partner, Fiona Moffat, comments ‘Our investment demonstrates to our clients that we are committed to providing cyber security practice in line with the UK’s National Cyber Security guidelines. Every year we help thousands of people move home and we hope that by gaining accreditation our clients are reassured that we are working to secure our IT against cyberattacks. Property is likely to be an individuals most valuable asset so when it comes to buying, selling or re-mortgaging you need to know your transaction is safe’.

The National Cyber Security Centre states that undertaking the Cyber Essentials certification process and implementing even one of the five controls required by Cyber Essentials can protect businesses from around 80% of attacks.

In addition to the accreditation, we also have a ‘Cyber Security & Your Transaction’ leaflet which can be downloaded from the website. This leaflet gives helpful advice on what you should expect from Timms and what you can do to assist during your transaction.

At any point during your transaction, if you have any doubts and haven’t visited our offices, please feel free to do so. Come and chat to your solicitor or conveyancer and meet them in person.
