Timms Sophie Wildsmith & Emily Facer Join Trainee Solicitor Programme

Timms Solicitors has further invested in its future talent pipeline with the appointment of two trainee solicitors; Sophie Wildsmith and Emily Facer.

Emily and Sophie both started their careers with Timms as paralegals in the Conveyancing team – working across the firm’s offices in Derby, Burton, Ashby and Swadlincote and were successful in their applications to take training seats.

Emily joined the firm in April 2022 and is now based in the Swadlincote office. She graduated in Law from the University of Derby in 2021 before going on to study the LPC LLM full time at the university.

With previous experience in Wills, Probate and Estates, Emily initially dealt with quotes and new business as well as supporting the Conveyancing team with administrative duties before progressing to support and manage her own files. Her first seat will be with the Public Law Family team in Derby under the guidance of partners Fiona Moffat and Dee Khunkhuna.

Sophie graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a first class law degree in 2021 and attained a distinction in her Legal Practice Course and Masters of Law at the University of Law in 2023.

She joined Timms in September 2022 as a Conveyancing assistant at the Burton Office and her first seat in the training contract will be with the Wills & Probate team in Swadlincote under the direction of Charlotte Day.

Timms Partner and the firm’s Training Principal, Adrian Rose, said: “We promoted from within this year which illustrates the high calibre of paralegal young professionals that we continue to attract.

“We remain firmly committed to achieving growth through home-grown talent and ensuring that young professionals have all the support, training and qualifications that they need for their own career development and to achieve the high standards of work that we expect at Timms.

“We wish our two new trainee solicitors all the very best in their flourishing careers and look forward to seeing them progress to the next stage of their professional development.”
