The term “forced adoption” is not a term that is used in Court proceedings. The Court and solicitors in Care proceedings will refer to non-consensual adoption or contested adoption. It is a term widely used on an almost daily basis in the media, especially the newspapers and on social media. It has also been discussed often in Parliament.
